Terrific Kid

Anna Grace's teacher, Mrs. McCall, sent me an email last Friday that said...

"We have exciting news, and I forgot to send home the note today with Anna Grace! She is our Terrific Kid for the month of February! We are so proud of her! We have not told her yet, so she does not know,, but it is fine if you want to tell her or if you want her to wait until we announce it on Monday.

Anyway, the program to honor her and give out certificates is on Friday, February 26, and you are invited. I will send the letter home with her on Monday.

Yea!"

Thomas and I were so proud to hear this. Terrific Kid is a program where a child from each class is picked by the teacher (each month) to be recognized for their character and good behavior.

I went with Anna Grace to the ceremony today and she was so proud. I loved being there and watching her. As the guidance counselor said, "Children are recognized for good grades, but they aren't always recognized for good behavior. That's why we have the Terrific Kid program." It was an honor to be there and Anna Grace be recognized for her character and good behavior.

Here is what Terrific stands for:

Thoughtful
Enthusiastic
Respectful
Responsible
Inclusive
Friendly
Inquisitive
Capable

Waiting for the program to start.

Anna Grace receiving her "Terrific Kid" certificate from the guidance counselor.

Anna Grace receiving a sticker and other awards.

Sitting back down.

We are so proud of Anna Grace!! We hope she is always recognized in life for her character, moral and good behavior. Our prayer for her is that this won't end in 5K, but it will last her entire life. Thank you God for this wonderful gift!! As parents we also need this recognition to remind us that through our love, discipline and parenting, our children are becoming who GOD intended them to be. Not only excelling in their grades, but excelling in their character. I love it when God surprises me and shows me some of the fruit from my labor!! As parents our work is hard and our days are long. When we see sweet fruit, it makes all of the time and effort we put in to raising our children so worth it!

Galations 5:21-22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."
