I woke up to my phone ringing yesterday morning. It was my mom asking if Anna Grace and I would like to meet her and my dad at the Columbia Zoo. The plan sounded great, but first we had to get in touch with Sage and Wyatt to make sure they could come too. We cancelled the plans after not being able to get in touch with Sage all morning. We made new plans. I was going to take AG to dance class and then her little friend Jaycie would come home and spend the day with us. I was about to walk out the door to take AG to ballet class when the phone rang. It was Sage telling me she and Wyatt were going to the zoo to meet mom and dad. What were we going to do? We decided to invite Jaycie to come to the zoo with us too!!
We took lots of pictures and had a great day! The weather was beautiful and just perfect for a day at the zoo.
Nana and Big Pop packed us a picnic lunch. We ate before we went into the zoo. Jaycie and Anna Grace eating their picnic lunch.

"Aunt Kayne! We are going to see Tigers!" Wyatt exclaims!

"Cheese!" Wyatt, Jaycie and AG in front of the bird cage.

A sea lion soaking up some rays and being watered by the fountain. I think this was my favorite animal of the day - next in line to the TIGER of course!

"Wake up Mr. Gorilla!" Jaycie tried hard to wake up the gorilla, but he slept the whole time we were there.

"Here Lizard, Lizard." This was one big lizard. It was so cute...as we walked into the reptile house, it was dark and music was playing...Wyatt started to run ahead of us filled with excitement. A man was walking beside him and Wyatt exclaimed, "What do you think is in here?!" It was so precious to see the awe, wonder and excitement in his face as he anticipated what he was about to see around the corner....what could be in here??

Jaycie and Wyatt next to the gorilla statue that Wyatt said was very hot.

The dirty, stinky elephants. We enjoyed seeing them, but they smelled horrible.

Three turtles eating some salad. The kids enjoyed watching them. After their lunch, two of the turtles had a fight and one pushed the other turtle onto his back - where he remained until the zoo attendant rolled him back over. Who knew so much drama went on in a turtle's life?!?

Big Pop and AG watching the turtles. AG LOVES her Big Pop!

So sweet. AG and Jaycie holding hands and walking to the next exhibit.

AG and Jaycie looking at the giraffe.

AG and Jaycie enjoyed sitting and watching the fishes swim.
Plus it was nice and cool in there.

Looking at the flamingos! We brought the stroller in the park for Wyatt. I told Sage, "The girls will walk. They won't need it." Well, Wyatt wanted to walk the whole time and guess who wanted to ride?!? The girls. They took turns riding in the stroller.

What would a trip to the zoo be without a ride on the carousel??
Jaycie and AG enjoyed riding the carousel.

Wyatt and Big Pop enjoyed riding it too!

There go the girls!

Going down the slide!

Well, AG and Jaycie found a solution to riding in the stroller. Instead of taking turns, they would rather share!

Having a snack before getting back in the car and heading home. We had a great time at the zoo, Nana and Big Pop! Thanks for inviting us!!
